Willowbrook Farm’s focus on growth
Willowbrook Farm, Ireland’s leading supplier of prepared salads and vegetables has laid solid foundations for growth as building works move swiftly forward to increase production space at its Killinchy facility.
The building will help to meet the consumer demand for access to healthy added value products that Willowbrook Farm is experiencing due to increasing market share and development into export markets, by securing listings in the major retail stores.
Colin Ferguson, sales director, commenting on the development said “Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the health benefits of the food they eat as they look for products that are able to fit both their health conscious and busy lifestyles.
"For these savvy consumers our ranges of prepared salad and vegetable products are ideal and we are well placed to meet their needs with our increased production capability”
He went on to say “The recently launched Focus on Food, a partnership strategy for the food industry in Northern Ireland, has highlighted that there is significant room for growth in areas where there is still a need to provide healthy foods at costs that make them accessible.
"This is something that we have been working on over the past year by introducing a range of products, from premium to value and by doing this; we have been helping towards giving consumers real choice to select a fresh salad over a processed fatty snack, for example.”
Production facility development is supported by the Department of Agricultural and Rural Development Processing and Marketing Grant that is supported by: The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe investing in rural areas.
