Record orders for Willowbrook Farm’s Newtownards Facility
Willowbrook Farm, Ireland’s leading supplier of prepared salads and vegetables, have experienced their busiest day ever since opening in 2009 at their Newtownards facility processing an amazing 14.13 tons of raw material for their salad bags.
It took the production team just over 6 hours from receiving their orders to cut, wash, dry, bag and pack the bags, over 75,500 of them, ready for dispatch.
Stephen Smith, Production Manager said “We know we are most likely to be busier heading in to the summer months in line with consumer behaviour so increase our forecast for raw materials to meet demand, but the orders we received exceeded our expectations. The fact that we were able to meet these orders is testament to the dedication of the whole team”
Concluding, Lucy Clifford-McBrinn, Project Manager said “It’s always great to hear good news that demonstrates the positive attitude and the desire to succeed that Willowbrook employees have when faced with new challenges. As we move in to the heart of the summer season, we expect orders to continue to increase so I’m sure it won’t be long until we beat the 14.13 ton record that’s just been set.”
The production lines at the Newtownards facility are bespoke to the company and were designed as part of a R&D project that had been supported by Invest Northern Ireland in 2009.
