Dips and Bites Crudités
These are simply a selection of raw vegetables, washed, peeled, sliced or grated and assembled together for a great low calories snack, as party food as a starter or as a great way of including good nutrition into your diet by eating these as part of your five a day plan.
A selection of whatever is seasonal is the best low cost way to provide a selection. Fruits and vegetables can be combined together from apple or pineapple sticks to carrot batons, cucumber sticks, mini corn or whatever you fancy
A variety of dips can be used using either mayonnaise, cottage cheese, fromage frais or natural yoghurt as the basis. To any of these use your favourite foods to create any of the following:-
Yoghurt with chives, scallions or a hint of curry powder
Soured cream with chilli sauce
Cottage cheese with pineapple
Natural fromage frais with finely chopped garlic, diced apple and a hint of paprika pepper.
